About:

Our African Drumming Incursion introduces every child to music, rhythm and songs from Western Africa. Extremely popular throughout Harmony Week, every child plays their own djembe which culminates in a whole school performance.

A drum circle forms the basis of the program and emphasises the importance of teamwork. Every child has the opportunity to immerse themselves in a different culture whilst they experience a feeling of unity as part of the drum circle.

Focusing on the culture, heritage and history of Western Africa, your children will be playing traditional polyrhythms to accompany popular songs from the region.

We offer a fully interactive service with each child playing their own instrument. Our hands on activities are suitable for all age groups and can accommodate up to 250 children per day. The day finishes with a whole school assembly and a performance by your own students.

EG Incursions is part of Education Group, the largest provider of school incursions, workshops and assemblies in the world. Each year across 3 continents we help educate millions of children.
