Welcome! We all look for wonderful experiences for our children, I know this! Because I used to be a teacher.
Please let me introduce myself. I'm Julie Zommers, and have presented this workshop over the last 5 years to over 25,000 children. I've just happened upon this wonderful Find School Workshops website, which will allow me to give even more children the amazing benefits of the Puppetry Workshop! The main thing is to make the children feel special, by building their confidence, not only in performance, but creativity as well.
My intention is simple: I want very very happy clients. That means not only the children, but teachers and organisers of programs as well. So far, so good:)
Julie, what a wonderful workshop. The true record for me is my children’s faces. They all had a fantastic time . It is a real credit to you how well you related to them. Thank you so much for bringing this experience to us. Lisa, Wavell Primary
THE PUPPETRY WORKSHOP OFFERS YOUR CHILDREN:
- 2 hours of a fun packed program where they will:
- Learn 5 basic tips and tricks for performing with puppets, via my demonstrations with my puppets ... this is totally interactive
- When they have learned the basic 5 skills, they all select a puppet from my 100+ puppet family, to practice these skills. There is always as lot of laughter in this segment.
- Then onto the practical side of the workshop! I give step by step instructions showing how to make a mouth moving puppet.
- The children then make their own puppet creation, with the sensational array of resources that I bring along with me.
You'll be able to see testimonials and the wonderful photos of puppets that the children have created on my website, when you enquire. Here's a testimonial:
‘Julie was FANTASTIC!!!!’ She had the kid’s attention from the minute she walked through the door They thoroughly enjoyed learning the art of puppetry and making their own! All staff commented on how well behaved and engrossed the kids were during the session. We can only assume it’s a reflection on how well constructed Julie makes the workshop. Thank you so much Julie-please come again!!’ Jackie, Lane Cove West Primary

Tina from Homebush Primary School:
‘What an amazing incursion, covering most areas: emotional, creative, social, all in one incursion. Julie’s professional presentation and enthusiasm made children want to participate. Julie managed to involve all ages especially the 10-12 group who were at first not keen. This group ended up loving this and took on most of the directors jobs and it was great to see their organisational skills evolve. This is one of the best incursions we have had which involved ALL ages. It was fun while having an educational undertone. The staff are inspired to continue this by having more puppet shows.
I would recommend this workshop without hesitation. I asked the children after the workshop, and 100% reallly loved it and wanted it again.’

Renee, Coomera Anglican College:
‘The Puppetry Workshop is such a wonderful and entertaining workshop for children and staff alike. The children were engaged the entire workshop, paying close attention when Julie was explaining how to find the voice of their puppets, how to move their hands and how all of it leads to keeping the audience engaged. Making the puppets was lots of fun and was explained in simple and easy-to-understand instructions, and both older and younger children (5-12) loved the workshop and actively engaged in making their own one-of-a-kind puppet!
Mandy, St Bernadine’s School, Regent Park:
‘Thank you Julie! Over the years we have always struggled to find new and exciting incursion activities for the children, but you have definitely catered for all of our needs….even the older boys! The children thoroughly enjoyed the entertaining 2 hour experience and learnt valuable skills in the process. We thank you for a very exciting, fun-filled workshop and hope to see you again soon.’
Agnes from St Kevin’s Primary School, Geebung:
