The Bullying Awareness and Prevention Program is a whole-of-school approach to creating a safe and creative environment where students and staff are supported to learn and develop, and provided the skills to understand, recognise and respond to bullying behaviour. The program examines the psychological aspects of physical aggression, cyber bullying and social aggression, which can culminate in serious violent incidents.
The Bullying Awareness and Prevention Program for primary schools differs from other antibullying workshops because it is customised to meet the needs of the school, is delivered by an experienced psychologist and specifically addresses the dynamics of bullying as well as skill building such including communication skills and mindfulness techniques. The program is grounded in theory and the latest national and international research. Importantly, the program scaffolds existing bullying approaches.
There are three components in the Bullying Awareness and Prevention Program - the Finding My Voice Bullying Program for students, Positive Schools Workshops for teachers, and Positive Schools, Positive Parents Workshops for parents.
