What is Naidoc and what can we do to learn about it? This show explores the history of Australia and acknowledges the importance of recognising the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Explore Aboriginal culture, words and meanings.  Learn a special welcome dance and welcome the 1st peoples of this great land. Hear about the signifigance of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, their stories and the meaning behind their traditional art; dot painting.

The children will be taken on a journey through history as we move towards modern day Australia.

See Captain Cook discover Australia and how Australia became a multicultural country. Drawing on traditional Aboriginal Art the children will create a dot painting of Australia telling the story of the many cultures we find here today.

We will visit a few countries of origin from some of our newer Australians. Then return to explore some indigenous culture and to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
