Overview

Tjupurru plays the DIDJERIBONE which is an Australian Made and designed instrument fusing the elements of the didjeridoo and trombone. His shows present a seamless entertaining and educational exploration of an ancient tradition, modern technology and personal creative development. Tjupurru shares his inspiring personal journey, the history of his culture and the Djabera Djabera Tribe and the expressions of Aboriginal art and music, enriching a deeper understanding of Indigenous culture.

Tjupurru captivates students with his extraordinary live interactive performance of the “Didjeribone Show”. Students contribute as he interacts with them using his Face Bass – a unique seismic sensor, to create ingenious and innovative songs and sound-scapes that blend elements of the traditional with contemporary, using a combination of masterful sequencing and sampling technologies along with traditional instruments and live organic sounds. Tjupurru would like to acknowledge Charlie McMahon for inventing the didjeribone, Face Bass, sound-system design and programming that enables him to create fantastic and fun expressions of music.

Teachers and students are delighted in the opportunity to hear instant results of their shared music making abilities. As well as developing a wider appreciation for traditional and cultural arts, students are introduced to the amazing world of modern music technologies.
