Chinese Dance & Arts (VIC, NSW, WA, SA)

Allow your students to engage with this interactive workshop, dance performance and cultural presentation that covers a variety of traditional Chinese dances.  The program provides an insight into the ancient world of Chinese culture, through their vivid display of colour, music and creativity. 

Chinese Music (VIC, SA)

Your students will gain insight into the authentic music of ancient Chinese Culture. Presented as a performance and workshop, students will be immersed in Chinese cultural history as they explore traditional instruments. This interactive incursion captures the hidden treasures of Chinese folk history.

Chinese Traditional Dance (VIC)

Join Yaoqian Guo for an interactive and educational traditional Chinese dance workshop. With more than 10 years professional teaching and dance training with one of China’s premier dance schools, Yaoqian will showcase traditional dances including Fan dance, Lantern dance, Mongolian dance, Tibetan dance, Korean dance and Classical Ribbon dance.

Chinese Traditional Instrumental (VIC)

Immerse your students in a musical composition workshop using the Chinese pentatonic scale. Students will discover Chinese culture and its rich history along with aspects of Chinese folk music and the minorities of China will also be examined.  Students will also have the opportunity to compose their own music in groups using the pentatonic scale.

Chinese Magic & Dance (NSW)

This duo performs an exciting, interactive show featuring traditional Chinese magic, music, dance, costumes and comedy. Explore Chinese cultural heritage in this fun and captivating program that combines the talent, elegance and playfulness of Chinese dance with the excitement and hilarity of a magician comedian.

Chinese Culture for a Day (NSW) – All Day Program

Immerse your students in Chinese culture for an entire day of cultural programs! With options including lion dance, tai chi, Kung Fu, Chinese dance, musical variety workshop, Chinese magic show and calligraphy, we can tailor a timetable to suit any age group.  Experience the full gamut of this ancient culture through some of its most famous and spectacular art forms in this all-day incursion.

Chinese Lion Dance (VIC, NSW, QLD, WA, ACT)

The Chinese Lion Dance brings good fortune, prosperity and longevity whenever performed! As well as gaining an insight into an ancient culture, students will love the vibrancy, energy and music of the Chinese Lion dance, an art form that dates back to the 12th century.

Chinese Fan Dance & Kung Fu (VIC)

Mu Lan Fan is a traditional Chinese Kung Fu dance.  Its flowing and fluid movements tell stories of love, romance, elegance and beauty. This enchanting program engages everyone in the history and skillful moves of Fan dancing, mastering the balance between Kung Fu and soft feminine movements. Experience the grace and discipline of this traditional Chinese art form in your classroom!

Taiko Drumming (VIC, NSW, ACT, QLD)

Engage your students in the rhythms of Japan in this exciting and interactive music program. Students are introduced to an array of Japanese Instruments before the room shakes with the sound of the Taiko drums! Some students may even have the opportunity to try the drums themselves.

Traditional Koto (VIC, NSW)

Discover the classically beautiful sounds of the koto, a thirteen string Japanese harp.  A master Koto artist performs classical Japanese pieces and creates new styles by combining the Koto with other instruments in order to share the beauty of Japanese culture.

Bukhu, Traditional Mongolian Throat Singer (NSW)

The talented Bukhu demonstrates both the remarkable Mongolian horse head fiddle and the hypnotic aural pleasure that is Shaman-derived throat singing. Bukhu masterfully weaves these instruments (voice and fiddle) with contemporary loop pedals and modern beats to create a show that will enthrall students and leave them wanting to learn throat singing themsleves!

Shadow Puppet Animation (VIC) - 50 mins or 1 hour 40 mins

Wayang Kulit (Shadow Puppetry) has a long history in Indonesian culture. In this fun animation course, students combine traditional puppetry with new stop motion technology to recreate a scene from the epic tale of Ramayana.  Be involved in all stages of the production including animating, narrating and selecting a soundtrack.

Tari Gambelan (NSW)

Featuring a variety of instruments such as metallophones, xylophones, kendang (drums), bamboo flutes and string instruments, this incursion offers student’s valuable insight into Indonesian life. Students will learn some basic Balinese dance steps accompanied by the sounds and rhythms of traditional instruments.

Spirit of Indonesia (VIC, WA, NSW)

Students will be immersed in Indonesian culture as our lovely Indonesian artist showcases a fusion of traditional and contemporary dance styles from Bali and Java, such as the Tari Merak (Peacock Dance) or the martial arts inspired Bajidor Kahot. Students will love the colourful costumes and be awestruck as the most intricate movements and gestures are made to seem effortless.

Spirit of Indonesia (VIC, WA, NSW) – All Day Program

Immerse you students in a full day of Indonesian workshops including an introduction to the culture of Indonesia, vibrant costume displays, basic language teachings and a traditional dance workshop. Students will have the opportunity to show off their dancing skills when the day concludes with a student showcase!
