"PRESENT FEARS ARE LESS THAN HORRIBLE IMAGININGS"

How can one man fall so far? One of Shakespeare’s greatest tragedies, Macbeth explores themes of ambition, guilt and fate and free will, among others.

In 'Shakespeare Without Tears: Macbeth’ our passionate, experienced and knowledgeable professional actors focus on the intense and often misunderstood relationship between Macbeth, the man that would be king, and Lady Macbeth, the woman who would do anything to place him on the throne. In a sharp 60-minutes, we propel students into the world ofShakespeare and how his themes, stories and narratives can align with their own lives and experiences today. With this connection from stage to page, teachers can experience greater engagement and more positive outcomes in the classroom as students learn to fall in love with Shakespeare and the English language.

Our intention is to motivate, educate and create a connection with students. We present linking commentary between scenes, explain and analyse where appropriate, highlight significant social and historical context. Each presentation includes a rapid-fire, four-minute, absorbing summation of the plot. Time us!

Our actors guide students through the murky world of Shakespeare's Macbeth, highlighting the key themes and scenes that make this such a compelling work.

In each performance we will:

-Highlight the themes and motifs that run throughout the pay such as fate, power, decay and light

-Examine the intense and often misunderstood relationship between Macbeth, the man that would be king, and Lady Macbeth, the woman who would do anything to place him on the throne

-Use modern adaptations of scenes and real time translations of more complex scenes, allowing students to fully immerse themselves in Shakespeares 'scottish play'

-Respectful and appropriate audience participation

-Link each scene with clear and concise explanations
